You want to get started with video and online courses but you're not sure what you need.

When I started my online business I definitely fell into the I can do #allthethings AND I learned how to procrastiperfect things... I would literally perfect things so much that it would turn into procrastination. DO NOT DO THIS. Done is better than perfect!!

I quickly learned to just do the thing and use what I had. When I first started doing video, I used my iphone propped up on some boxes to get the right angle and that was fine. Over time I invested in more gear so just look at what you can use now and when you're ready and your budget allows for it then you can buy more okay?Remember, done is better than perfect.

Software

Zoom* : Video Conferences / 1-on-1 Video Sessions

Crowdcast* : Live Webinars / Workshops / Live Streams / Video Summits

Screenflow* : Easy-to-use screen casting software for Mac. This is what I use

for ALL of my videos.

iMovie : I use this app on both my Mac computer and iPhone for creating

short videos.

Adobe Premiere Pro*: I recently made the switch to Adobe Premiere Pro for editing my videos and I LOVE it. I had been using iMovie and Screenflow for the past couple of years but with Premiere Pro, I am able to do things like:

  • 🎬 Create video templates (so I’m not recreating the wheel each time I create a new video)

  • 🗣 Quickly edit sound so my sound levels are even. (Nothing is worse than having to constantly turn your volume up and down when watching videos!)

  • ✂️ Editing is a breeze especially with my logickeyboard skin and logickeyboard with all of the hot keys and this Palette Gear Expert kit! (Click here to see the photo.)

TubeBuddy*: TubeBuddy is a tool that I use for YouTube. It’s a google chrome extension with a lot of helpful tools. I am able to monitor my account, see how my tags are helping me rank on YouTube, find amazing royalty free background music for my videos, and so much more.

Cost: Free (paid options available)

I’m on the Pro Plan which I bought as a lifetime deal a year ago and it is definitely worth it. Click here to grab a lifetime deal for TubeBuddy Pro for $40.

Thinkific*:

I use thinkific for my online courses and hosting my membership site, Action Taker Haven.

Vimeo: I host videos here because the quality is good and I can setup folders for my clients to access their 'done with you' videos easily too.
